    Herbal Skin Care

Skin care is not a topic of recent times; it has been in practice since ancient times, when herbal skin care was probably the only way to take care of skin. However, skin care has transformed in a big way. Herbal skin care routines have been replaced by synthetic/chemical-based skin care routines. The herbal skin care recipes which once used to be common place are not so popular today (and even unknown to a large population). This transformation from herbal skin care to synthetic, can probably be attributed to two things – our laziness (or just the fast pace of lives) and the commercialisation of skin care. Even herbal skin care products have been commercialised. These commercial herbal skin care products have to be mixed with preservatives in order to increase their shelf-life, hence making them less effective than the fresh ones made at home. However, it seems that things are changing fast and more people are now opting for natural and herbal skin care routines. But still, none want to make them at home and hence the commercial market of herbal skin care products is on the rise.

So what are these herbs or herbal skin care mechanisms?

Aloe vera, which is an extract from Aloe plant, is one of the best examples of herbal skin care product. Freshly extracted aloe vera is a natural hydrant that helps in soothing skin. It also helps in healing cuts and treating sun burns.

A number of herbs are known to possess cleansing properties. Dandelion, chamomile, lime flowers and rosemary herbs, are a few examples of such cleansers. Their herbal skin care properties get invoked when they are combined with other herbs like tea.

Prescription Medicine and Herbal Remedies: Which Is Better?

Herbal medication has been used for thousands of years before prescription medication came into existence to treat various types of diseases and illnesses. Using natural substances such as herbs, fruits or even tincture (alcoholic extracts) it has been a way of life. But now when people speak about herbal medication they talk about them like there fads or call them an “alternative way of healing”. They (typically non-users) write them off as being substandard when it comes to modern medicine.

Many people that subscribe to living there life the natural way believe that these herbal medications are more effective at not only treating but preventing illnesses and preventing their negative long term effects. But the FDA doesn’t currently allow herbal medication to be classified as a medication or a drug. Manufactures have to classify them as a dietary supplement and they are not allowed to advertise what the healing benefits of each herb are.

The FDA along with the manufactures of these chemical drugs want you to believe that medications you purchase today were naturally derived from plants and animals. Sometimes this might be the case, but over time scientists came up with methods of chemically recreating these combinations so they could mass produce them without having to use plants or raise animals. Medications like this have evolved from natural cures to chemical copies. And many of these chemical medications aren’t as beneficial to you because some contain many side effects that either leave you with a drug dependency or damage body organs such as the liver. Also since prescription medicine has been altered and modified extensively, chances are it has lost most of the natural benefit that a natural plant would have provided because plants know how to naturally process ingredients better than any human can process them synthetically as well.

    What Is Herbal Medication?

Somewhere around 4000 BC, in the brilliant Himalayas, one of the prime sages of ancient India, Srila Vyasadeva wrote down the Vedas for the first time, this comprised a wing, which is called Ayurveda: “The science of Life” (”Ayur” means life and ”Veda” means science). Herbal medicine and remedies have from the earliest of times been the nemesis for the world of science and medicine, particularly for the older civilizations such as in India and China. The importance of alternative medicine, inclusive of Ayurveda, Aromatherapy, etc., has been, of late, chosen by the general public in first world nations. Hence, ayurvedic remedies in specific is receiving popularity day by day, bit by bit by virtue of the Modern world enthusiasm, in some measure because 21st century medicine has started to pose numerous far-reaching problems.

One of the biggest problems with allopathic medicine is not knowing when to stop antibiotics. We have taken allopathic medicines as our birth-right to such extent where users may become unaffected to therapies of the allopathy type. On the other hand, where we as yet have not come to be tolerant to modernized medicine, there we bear the full force of its side effects. Many a times prescription drugs cure single sign of illness or problem but can give rise to other indirect side (sometimes adverse) effects. Natural and ayurvedic medicine, on the other side, are much safer and dependable, in most cases, compared with prescription medications.

Herbal medicines, alternative medicine and natural supplements have been in existence for many years and have stood the test of time. Herbal medicines and ayurvedic medicines attend to your body in holistic manner. Ayurveda medicine have a vast spectrum and can heal anything from physical or mental pressure to hair-loss, lessen your blood pressure, reduce cholesterol levels and even help cut back blood sugar levels in diabetics, or even, in professional cases, treat cancer.
