How To Choose The Right Product To Get Rid Of Blackheads
Many people are suffering from blackheads. So, you’re not the only one. The good news is that there are a lot of products available to fight them. The bad news is that there are so many of them and most of them are so expensive that it makes it hard to decide which one is the right one for you. So how do you choose? How do you know which one will actually work?
Tip#1
Before buying a product that promises to eliminate blackheads, you should read the product reviews first. Many times it is enough to just type the product’s brand into search engine like Google, or Yahoo, etc…
Attach a word “review” at the end, and many results should appear.
The easiest way to do a research on a product and to get an honest opinion, is to go to Amazon.com. They have millions of products available that have real people write reviews after they’ve used it.
I use this trick all the time, and so far I haven’t been disappointed once.
Just type in the product’s name you’re researching and read the reviews. Not only this is a good way to tell whether the product is good or not, but it is also a great way to pick up tips on how to make the most of the product. Many people will offer their own little remedies that worked for them.
Tip #2
Find out the return policy. This is very important. No matter how safe and good a product for blackheads claim to be, there is always a chance that you might get an allergic reaction to it. So you always want to make sure that you can easily return the product and get all of your money back.
How To Wash Your Hair The Right Way
Most people think that during shampooing, it’s enough to just put shampoo on your head, lather any which way and rinse then bubbles away. If you are washing your hair like this, you are not maximizing on the benefits that the correct way of shampooing can bring to your hair. Washing your hair the correct way can affect how your hair looks and feels, as well as make your scalp the healthiest that it can be. Some people wonder why their hair is so dull or their scalp is so itchy then spend lots of money going to the salon to repair it, when all along, they could have just washed their hair the right way and not have to get expensive salon treatments. If you don’t know how to wash your hair correctly, just follow the guidelines below.
- Select the right kind of shampoo for your hair. Brands offer different variations of shampoo for a reason and that is because different people have different types of hair. Each of these variations are especially formulated for the type of hair they are meant to be used on. For example, if you have dry hair, use the shampoo formulated especially for dry hair.
- Buy your shampoo according to region. You might notice that some brands are especially formulated for Asian hair, and that is because Asian hair is different in texture than people from other regions. In the same vein, if you are from Europe, use the shampoo made from your own region because the shampoo made in your locale most likely is formulated in a way that benefits people with hair that is constantly exposed to cold weather.
Olive Oil for Face Masks and More: Nature’s Beauty Secret
Using olive oil for face masks is one of the many beauty secrets of nature that we’ve been keeping track of for the last ten years. While popularly known for the amazing health benefits it provides as part of a balanced diet, it can also be used to keep your appearance beautiful and youthful.
The ancient Egyptians, Romans, Greeks and Phoenicians all acknowledged the beauty properties of olive oil for face, skin, hair, nails and even fresh breath. Scientific research in the last century has revealed that it’s rich in vitamins A, D, K and particularly vitamin E, which are protective antioxidants that minimize damage caused by “free radicals” (unstable atoms and molecules) that cause cell oxidation and aging.
The following are some simple tips you can use to incorporate olive oil into your beauty routine.
Olive Oil For Face And Skin Care:
- Use olive oil for face masks to smooth the complexion and maintain skin’s elasticity. Mix oil, honey and one egg yolk until well blended. Apply mask to face and leave for 15 minutes. Use warm water to rinse.
- Prevent stretch marks, treat dry skin, psoriasis and eczema by massaging oil directly into affected area straight out of the bottle
- Add to bath water for a moisturizing soak.
- Apply to hands and feet at bedtime then cover with cotton gloves and socks to soften callous, dry and cracked skin.
- Dab on lips at bedtime to heal and prevent chapping.
For Hair:
- Make a hot oil treatment to heal dry or damaged hair by mixing 2/3 cup of oil and 1 TBSP of honey in a re-sealable plastic bag. Fill a bowl with hot water and place the sealed bag in the water until it becomes warm. (Do not allow oil to become hot.) Apply oil mixture to roots and work it through to the tips of your hair. Cover with a shower cap and wrap in a warm towel. Leave on for 20 minutes. Shampoo and condition as normal.
What Can You Do About Dry Skin
It can be a depressing (and sometimes painful) experience to have dry skin. Looking at patchy white skin can be irritating, and it annoys even more when it starts to itch. But there are a couple of remedies you can try to relieve your condition, some conventional, others more traditional.
The most common tip people would give you is to get a good body lotion. Body lotions come in varying hydrating properties, so choose one that would most benefit you. There is no tried and true lotion; some will work for you better than it may work for others. Glycerin-laced body lotions will hydrate your skin from the inside out, while petroleum-based or cocoa butter containing body lotions will help seal moisture and prevent the occurrence of further drying. If your skin is itching from all that dryness, an aloe or menthol based lotion will provide a cooling sensation and soothe the itch. Remember though, that body lotions don’t have to be expensive to be good. I personally use Watson’s Intensive Hydrating Lotion, which doesn’t cost much at all, and it works better than the more expensive lotions I’ve tried! For your face, get a good hydrating facial kit. Cleansing, toning, and especially moisturizing are very important to preserve moisture in your face and avoid a pale white look.
Makeup for Droopy Eyes
Has anyone ever told you that you have “puppy dog” eyes? If they have, then you have the “droopy eye” eye shape. This eye shape is where the outer corners of your eyes are turned slightly downward, or they seem lower than the inner corners of your eyes. There is a pretty simple way to apply eye makeup to de-accentuate that eye shape and make your eyes appear more open and lifted.
The trick is simple. You want to keep all eye makeup off of the very outer corners of your eyes. If you apply makeup in the outer corners, it drags them down more and actually makes your eyes appear droopier than they already are.
Here is a step-by-step easy way to apply your eye makeup. You will use at least three shades of eye shadow: highlight is the lightest shade, midtone is darker, and the accent is the darkest shade. In order to provide a visible “lift” to the outer corners of your eye, do the following:
1. Apply the highlight shade to the brow bone and eyelid as well as the inner corner of the lower lash line.
2. Be careful with the midtone shade, proper placement will lift the outer corners of your eyes. Apply the midtone shade slightly in from the outside corner of the eye. You will then sweep the color upwards and in across the crease and into the inside corner of your eye – (but not onto the sides of the bridge of your nose!) Also apply the midtone shade along your lower lashline using a thin, flat eyeliner brush. You will start slightly in from the outside corner and brush it across to the inside corner. I know I said don’t put anything in the outside corners, however, applying a little midtone shade across most of the entire lower lashline will help it blend with the accent shade later on.
